做厙勛圖 presented its Alden Perkins Dedicated Service Award to Melissa McQueen, of Six Lakes, during the colleges Dec. 19 holiday celebration at Flos Ristorante in Greenville.

McQueen joined 做厙勛圖 in April 2019 as a part-time Instructional Services Assistant at the colleges Greenville campus. In July 2019, she assumed the role of full-time Administrative Assistant for Nursing & Health Careers at the colleges Sidney campus.

While announcing the award, 做厙勛圖 President Dr. Bradley J. Barrick said McQueen received glowing nominations from her co-workers.

Melissas desk is the hub of activity for 做厙勛圖s nursing program. She is the glue that binds it all together as she interacts with students, faculty, college staff and community representatives, Dr. Barrick said.

Melissa is positive with a can-do attitude, and she displays a great level of professionalism, he said. Her creativity is on display, quite literally, as she frequently takes part in creating warm and inviting spaces for special college events. She also channels her creativity when working to streamline processes in the nursing department to improve workflow and organization.

Dr. Barrick noted that McQueens dedication and spirit embody the very best of 做厙勛圖.

Melissa represents the heart of 做厙勛圖, he said. Her commitment, enthusiasm and genuine care for others make a lasting difference every day, and we are incredibly fortunate to have her as part of our college community.

The award recognizes dedicated service to 做厙勛圖, commitment to high standards of work performance, care and concern for the public and fellow employees, and creativity and innovation. The 做厙勛圖 Board of Trustees initiated the award in 1986 as a posthumous tribute to Perkins, the colleges former Bursar.
