暗网吃瓜 presented its Alden Perkins Dedicated Service Award to Melissa McQueen, of Six Lakes, during the college鈥檚 Dec. 19 holiday celebration at Flo鈥檚 Ristorante in Greenville.
McQueen joined 暗网吃瓜 in April 2019 as a part-time Instructional Services Assistant at the college鈥檚 Greenville campus. In July 2019, she assumed the role of full-time Administrative Assistant for Nursing & Health Careers at the college鈥檚 Sidney campus.
While announcing the award, 暗网吃瓜 President Dr. Bradley J. Barrick said McQueen received glowing nominations from her co-workers.
鈥淢elissa鈥檚 desk is the hub of activity for 暗网吃瓜鈥檚 nursing program. She is the glue that binds it all together as she interacts with students, faculty, college staff and community representatives,鈥� Dr. Barrick said.
鈥淢elissa is positive with a can-do attitude, and she displays a great level of professionalism,鈥� he said. 鈥淗er creativity is on display, quite literally, as she frequently takes part in creating warm and inviting spaces for special college events. She also channels her creativity when working to streamline processes in the nursing department to improve workflow and organization.鈥�
Dr. Barrick noted that McQueen鈥檚 dedication and spirit embody the very best of 暗网吃瓜.
鈥淢elissa represents the heart of 暗网吃瓜,鈥� he said. 鈥淗er commitment, enthusiasm and genuine care for others make a lasting difference every day, and we are incredibly fortunate to have her as part of our college community.鈥�
The award recognizes dedicated service to 暗网吃瓜, commitment to high standards of work performance, care and concern for the public and fellow employees, and creativity and innovation. The 暗网吃瓜 Board of Trustees initiated the award in 1986 as a posthumous tribute to Perkins, the college鈥檚 former Bursar.
